This page is intended as a narrative as to books that the Izrunas Consulting Group recommends to its clients and to the public at large. Book titles have been included as hyperlinks to Amazon.com for convenience. We will elaborate, expand, and rewrite what is here from time to time-- so be sure to check back periodically to see what's new.

In our work with clients and in our own independent research, we've identified a number of books that we believe are well worth the time to read. As a universal management principle, Izrunas Consulting Group recommends that all business owners read regularly and spend an average of 20-25% of their work week on activities related to business planning-- which includes reading business books and deciding if and how to implement newly learned information or skills.

Our consultants are most often asked about "proper" or "best" management styles and approaches. Obviously, there are literally thousands and thousands of books on the subject, but the very best one we have found so far is First, Beak All the Rules by Marcus Buckingham. The work presented represents decades of research by the Gallup Organization about what truly constitutes good management. We highly recommend this book as a great starting point for thinking about management and employee relationships.

StrengthsFinder 2.0 -- This book is the basic building block required for building a strengths-based organization. It contains a PIN code allowing one person to take the StrengthsFinder 2.0 test and obtain their results. The book is an explanation of the results--and how best to apply the discovered strengths while managing or delegating one's weaknesses. For more information about what StregthsFinder is and upon which principles it is based, get the book Now, Discover Your Strengths.

On the marketing front, we subscribe to the philosophy of One to One Marketing as a way of achieving higher customer satisfaction and loyalty while being able to scale up company size and revenues--without loss of personalization that so many buyers have come to expect.

As entrepreneurs, many of us seek inspiration from the great Prime Movers of commerce and industry. It also helps to understand the "why" of doing things, so it becomes important to discover Why Businessmen Need Philosophy.
